The maps I used did really
satisfy me. I found my way everytime and had no difficulties. But there were
some exceptions. In the following I will discribe every map.
This
is a very good map. It is not very large but the bike lane called
"Donau-Radweg" is very
detailed. The scale is appropiate. There are some tourist informations too. I had no difficulties.
This
map is the continuation of the first one. And it is as good as the first
one too.
This
map I bought in Hainburg. But this was a mistake. Although it has a good
scale it is not very
detailed and difficult to read.
After
Budapest I couldn't get any trail or cycle map. I had to use
general road maps. This map is very good but the scale is bigger and certainly it isn't as
detailed as a trail or cycle map.
The
farer I came to the east the more difficulties I had to get detailed
maps. The scale of this one is very big using it for a bike tour. But I
found my way everytime. You should use only frontier crossings drawn in
the map. According to the political situation you shouldn't use minor
roads.
This
map led me safely through Romania although the scale is big. But due to
the fact that there are not many cars in Romania it is no problem to use
major roads.
But in the delta of the Danube this map
fails. It contains roads that really don't exist. You should buy an
extra one in Tulcea.
